COMPETITION

General Rules:
USSA (United States Ski Association) rules apply. No ski size requirements.
The best of two runs will be used except in a tie when the two runs will be combined
to break the tie.

Out of State Athletes accepted for OPEN categories only.

Format:
Slalom - No fewer than 18 gates.
Giant Slalom - No fewer than 14 gates.
Winners determined by the best of two runs. Combined times determine the winner
in the event of a tie. Course will be reset as needed between classes. Intermediate course
set for Citizens. Masters (above 11) and Open courses are set to USSA competition
standards.

Definitions:
(Competitors may register for 1 race per classification (Citizens, Masters, or Open) per race length, only. Example: You may enter both Citizens Slalom and Masters Giant Slalom, but not both Citizens Slalom and Masters Slalom. Commissioners reserve the right to move competitors to an appropriate classification if fewer than 3 competitors register for an age division.)
Citizens - Limited or no racing experience. Any skier with good directional control. Volunteer members of the National Ski Patrol without racing experience. NASTAR racers consistently achieving bronze medal or below. (We encourage all 2008 Citizens gold medal winners returning within the same age division move to Masters.) WI Residents Only.
Masters - Racers who have participated in any type of organized race program(s) including USSA, WIJARA, High School Ski Team, any local/regional ski competition. Consistent gold or silver winner in NASTAR. (We encourage all 2008 Masters gold medal winners 18 and over returning within the same age division move up to Open.) WI Residents Only.
Open - Out-of-state athletes (all ages), race coaches, ski instructors, professional ski patrol, any paid skiing professional or any other racer wanting to compete at the highest level of competition. WI residents & non-residents accepted.
