COMPETITION

General Rules:

USSA and FIS rules apply. Athletes must be 16 years or older to compete in this event.

No running through transition area.

No pets on the 9 Mile trails and grounds.

Format:

The Quadrathlon will start, transition, and finish in the finish area of the American Family InsuranceBadger State cross country ski courses at 9 Mile Forest. The run and bike portions of the Quad will be held on the roads and forest roads off Red Bud Road. The course will be flat with some hills. The snowshoe and ski portions of the Quad will be held on the ski trails at 9 Mile Forest, which will be groomed for each event. The ski Course will have both classic and skate tracks.

Two Person Pairs/Relay Teams: Male pairs, coed pairs, and relay teams will
compete against each other. Female pairs and relay teams compete only against other
female pairs and relay teams.

Definitions:

Pairs Competition: Two athletes compete in any two legs of the race.
Relay Competition: Four athletes compete, one race leg per athlete.

Divisions: (Age determined as of January 25, 2009)

For pairs and relay teams, athletes' ages will be added and the average age of the team will be used to determine division.

Equipment:

Bike: Helmets are required for all riders and must meet ANSI and SNELL requirements. Recommended minimum tire dimensions: 1.5" width, 26" diameter. Mandatory bike inspection will take place prior to the race.
Snowshoes: Snowshoes are available on a first come, first served basis. Please call 608-226-4780 ext. 228 before Jan. 20, 2008. Limited equipment available.
